Christmas Album

Shelley, here, with a Christmas Album to share with you!

This album has a neat acrylic front, so I put a few things on it, but not too many.  That way, the pretty paper shows up nicely from underneath!

I used buttons, tulle, buttons, bling, and strips of paper on the front side of this acrylic page.

This is what it looks like on the other side.  Notice I only embellished exacly on the other side of the embellishments on the first side.  That way, you don't see any of the back side of embellishments(or any glue).


On this page, I used Red Viva Pearl Pens to help give dimension to the already beautiful paper.  This paper is by Creative Imaginations, the company that now is SPLASH OF COLOR.


I used a sticker, pop dots, and some twine to make this page.


Up close, you can see the lovely Pearl Pen by Viva.  These pens are awesome, and I absolutely have EVERY color!!  I use these as frequently as I use any item in my studio!  Love them!!


More Viva, more paper, and a touch of flowers and some tinsel make this page twinkle!

 
This is my daughter at her Christmas play last year!  She is a sweetie and I love her so!


Here, just a few stickers, some writing around the edge, and more of the wonderful pearls!




Here, a few mini-ornaments and bling brighten up the page!


On the roof top, here, I used cut up strips of tissue paper, then painted it with Splash of Color's Silks in African Jade.  I hope you can see the shine.  It is a beautiful color of paint!  After this completely dried, I used the Red Viva Pearl Pen!




This paper is Cream Music by Splash of Color.  I painted it lightly with watered-down Olive Vine Silks to give it just a hint of color.

Here is my canvas using the Frog Dog Mixed Media Kit.

 I began with the Tim Holtz fabric pieces cut into fourths with pinking shears.  I glued these down in a pattern I was happy with, then painted the middle portion of the canvas with the Luminarte Acrylic Silks in Carmen.

 I used the Prima stamps to make some patterns on the green banner pieces.  I then used lettters on the banner pieces, and pop-dotted them to the page, and put them together like they were hanging on a piece of twine.
  I used butttons on each end of these hangings.

 I painted the Tim Holtz tree with Luminarte Silk Acrylic Glaze ~ Fern.  It made it a beautiful color, and then I touched it up with a bit of the Carmen.  I finished off the tree with a few ornaments and a couple of packages made with tiny kraft tags.  I used the tinsel from the kit on the tree, also.

 In a few places around the canvas, I used a snowflake stencil and the Viva Colour ~ Modelng Cream in Pearl.

I cut out a few of the images from the kit, and placed them at the bottom of the canvas, using a bit of the red netting in the corner of each.

BOMBERS painted sneakers

 My son plays baseball on the BOMBERS, an 11U youth baseball team.  In June, they played in the AAYBA World Series in Flower Mound, Texas.  To show some extra spirit, I bought some white canvas sneakers and painted them in BOMBERS' fashion!  I put some pics of my shoes on Facebook, and my best friend, whose son is on the same team, demanded that she have a pair also!  lol

 This is her pair! painted them with acrylic paint, using several different sizes of paint brushes...mostly tiny!

For the BOMBERS pattern, I used the same design as our pins that our boys got to trade with the other teams.   This was definitely the hardest part of the shoes.

 Here is my son's towel with the pins he collected from other teams.

Here is a close-up of a few of the pins.  The BOMBERS pin I painted on the shoe is right in the middle!

 On this side, I painted "AAYBA World Series" to commemorate our special week!

I think they turned out pretty well!  Besides mine and my friend, Kelli's, I also made my eight year old daughter a pair!  Anything for the BOMBERS!!

 The BOMBER sisters!!  Macy is the 2nd one from the right, wearing the white t-shirt and holding 2 dolls.  She is wearing her painted shoes, but you can barely see them.

 Poor Jacob, one of our teams members, broke his thumb in one of the games, and had to return the next day with a cast on it!  He was pretty disappointed.  I painted his cast with the BOMBER symbol to try to cheer him up!!

The BOMBERS ended up winning 15th in the Diamond Division, which made us 31st in 84 teams! We were pretty happy with that, especially for our first year at the World Series! Good job, boys!  We love you!!

Peek a Boo Monsters "Guess the Date" Raffle Ticket Boards

 A friend of ours is one of my 11 year-old son's baseball trainers.  He and his wife are expecting twin boys, and she is due in July.  He works at D-Bat training facility in Mansfield, and he also coaches the D-Bat 13 year old select baseball team.  As a fundraiser, he wanted to have a "Guess the date" game(for twins, there is really a great variation as to when they could be born!).  I made calendars for him with two small tickets in a little pocket for each day am/pm that a ticket could be purchased for.  I perforated the bottom edges so that they would have a receipt of the  day/time that was purchased.    He said the baby boys' room would be decorated in "Peek a Boo Monsters" bedding, and that they would love to have the calendars match that theme...

                                                          So, here they are...May...

June...

and July!!!

   I think he said that so far, he had sold 40 tickets!  Yea!!! 

 I'd better get my ticket purchased before they're all gone!!  lol  

         P.S.  Any ideas on what day/time I should choose?!?!

 No matter what day they come, I sure am excited to hold those lil' monsters!!

Prarie Chic Album Class

 

Hey, guys!  I'm teaching this "Prarie Chic" Album as a class at The Crafty Scrapper on May 11 at 2:30 pm for $45.

We'll make this chipboard album by Maya Road look like weathered wood!  We'll be using the paper and many embellishments from Prarie Chic by Bo Bunny.  We also are using several goodies from Maya Road and paint by Tim Holtz!
